Our verdict
Guitar Tricks for a traditional guitar curriculum; Yousician for game-like app practice, especially with kids in the house.
Price comparison is incomplete: Guitar Tricks is $29.95/mo or $179/yr, while Yousician does not publish a USD price on its public pages. Both trial free (14 vs 7 days). Yousician listens via microphone for instant feedback, offers 10,000+ lessons/songs across five instruments, and refunds Yousician-billed plans within 14 days only if unused; Guitar Tricks is guitar-only with 11,000+ lessons and a stronger 60-day guarantee. Editorial recommendation based on features/terms only - not hands-on testing.
